Business hours and Tourism Information centre

Government office are open from Monday to Thursday as well as Saturday from 7:45am to 12:15pm and from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. They are close on Friday and Sundays.

Private offices are generally open from 8am to 5pm on weekdays and from 8am to 12pm on Saturdays. Banks typically operate from 9am to 3pm on weekdays and 9am to 11am on Saturdays. Most shopping centers are open daily from 10am to 9.30pm.

There are two TIC (tourist information centre) located in brunei. First one is easily to spot at the Brunei International Airport. The second one is at the capital city, Bandar Seri Begawan.

Kampong Ayer Cultural & Tourism Gallery



The Gallery was completed in June 2009. it was established to provide the visitors and locals a glimpse of kampong ayer celebrated past and to revive the cottage industries from days of old. you can get there by water taxis which can be easily found at Yayasan Jetty in the capital Bandar Seri Begawan. There are five galleries in the gallery, each with different objects from the past.

Shopping In Brunei.

Shopping is one of the entertainment that Brunei provides. There are several massive shopping malls in the capital city, The YSHHB mall and the Tamu night market (for food) are the main places to shop in the capital, while the nearby mall in Gadong is also popular. Silverware and handmade baskets (traditional items) are popular items to buy. Textile Shops such as Nazmi, the Mall cineplax (where you can enjoy new movies), the massive food court on the 3rd floor of the mall in gadong.

Transportation In Brunei

Brunei Towns are generally very small so it is easy for foreigners and local people to get around. there are six buses routes on service: they are the Central line, Circle line, Eastern line, Southern line, Western line and Northern line. the Buses operate from 6am - 6pm. all the above routes terminate their journey at the main bus terminal in BSB. Bus Fares start from $1.00.


The Water Taxis, uniqueness of Brunei, it is the most common transportation for people who are living in kampong ayer (water village) the Water Taxis is the most efficient way to visit and view the water village up - close. the cost of the water taxis depends on the distance but usually it costs about BND 0.50.


Meter Taxis are available from most hotels, shopping centre and the Airport. there are extra cost for taxis rides from 11:00pm - 6.00am. For further inquires you may call the Land transport department at 2451979 during office hours.

Tasek Lama

Hiking, Tasek Lama located at Bandar Seri Begawan, just a few minutes walk from the city center. Visitors can stroll at leisure on well-made walkways through the small park which has benches and picnic spots, as well as a waterfall and ponds. this is one of the popular hiking places. opens daily at 7:45 am to 6:00 p.m.

The chancellor hall is located around the campus of the University. it is 20 minutes away from the Brunei International Airport. the Functions use at the chancellor hall , is the graduation of students after they complete their studies. not only that but it also show exhibition of martial arts there recently on February 2011.
